Liberty's road game at Winthrop this Saturday has been moved from a 7 p.m. start to 2 p.m.

This Saturday's Big South women's basketball game between Liberty and Winthrop has been moved from an evening start time to an afternoon start time, due to a couple of scheduling conflicts in the area, including the nearby Arizona Cardinals-Carolina Panthers NFL playoff game. Tip-off between the Lady Flames and Eagles is now slated for 2 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, S.C.

The contest, originally slated for a 7 p.m. start, will be a showdown between two of the Big South's best teams. Liberty (6-7, 1-0 Big South) was picked to finish first in the Big South preseason poll, with Winthrop (5-6, 1-0 Big South) following closely in second. Both teams won their conference openers by double digits on Saturday, with Liberty defeating Gardner-Webb and Winthrop claiming a road victory at Presbyterian.

Saturday's matinee will also feature three-fifths of the Big South preseason all-conference team—Liberty's Megan Frazee (G/F, Xenia, Ohio) and Moriah Frazee (F, Xenia, Ohio) and Winthrop's Ashley Fann. Megan Frazee, the reigning Big South Player of the Week, was tabbed Big South Preseason Player of the Year for the third season in a row.

Liberty and Winthrop split the 2007-08 season series, with each team winning at home. Winthrop was the lone Big South team to defeat the Lady Flames last year, claiming a 56-52 victory at the Winthrop Coliseum on Feb. 27, 2008.
