Curry (Charlotte, N.C.) averaged 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and shot .519 percent from the floor in leading the Flames to a 3-0 record last week, including Liberty's first win over an ACC school since 1998 and a CAA program since 2002. He scored a game-high 26 points in the Flames' 86-82 win at Virginia, dropped in 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds vs. Coker, and scored 21 points in Liberty's double overtime win over William & Mary. Curry, who was named MVP of the Liberty Thanksgiving Classic, scored 13 of his 21 points after regulation on 6-of-7 shooting in the win over the Tribe. His trey with 18.1 seconds left in the first overtime forced a second extra session. For the week, Curry was 27-of-52 from the floor and 10-of-24 from long range (41.7 percent) while regularly facing double teams and a box-and-one.
Curry continued his hot playing to start off the week, tallying a game-high 22 points in Liberty's 69-66 overtime win against George Mason on Monday. Curry scored eight of Liberty's last 11 points, including a three-point basket with 17.7 seconds remaining to tie the contest and send it to overtime.
The Flames return to action on Saturday when they re-enter conference play, as the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs invade the Vines Center. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be televised on the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network.
