Joshua Boateng was one of two Flames named to the Big South All-Tournament team today.

Liberty seniors Joshua Boateng and Cameron Chastain were selected to the 2008 Big South All-Tournament team, the conference announced today at the conclusion of this year's Big South Men's Soccer Championship.

Boateng (F, Accra, Ghana) and Chastain (MF/F, Millersville, Md.) were both named to the team for the second consecutive year.

Boateng, who was the 2007 Big South Tournament MVP, was honored this year, after scoring the game-winning goal in No. 5 seed Liberty's 2-1 first-round victory over No. 4 seed High Point and assisting on the tying marker in the Flames' contest with No. 1 seed and 2008 Big South Champion Winthrop.

With three points during the tournament, Boateng finishes his senior season with 32 points on 13 goals and six assists. The 2008 All-Big South first-team member's point total ties him for fifth on the program's single-season points list with James Wright, who compiled 32 points in 1994. The forward's goal total ties him for sixth on the Liberty single-season list with Mark Senitz, who scored 13 goals in both 1991 and 1992.

After scoring the equalizer against Winthrop, Chastain (MF, Millersville, Md.) received his second career all-tournament team mention. The senior finished his year with three goals and one assist for seven points.

Liberty finished its season on Friday in the Big South Championship semifinals, falling on penalty kicks to Winthrop (7-6). The Flames completed their year at 10-5-3.
