The Flames finished in 14th place at the Windon Memorial.

Indiana golfer Jorge Campillo (205) began the day in ninth place, but shot a tournament-low 63 during Monday's final round to win Northwestern's Windon Memorial Golf Tournament, at the par-71, 7,067-yard North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill. Illinois' Matt Hoffman (213) started the day in first place, but his 78 in the final round dropped him to a seventh place tie.

Liberty (893) shot its best round of the tournament (294) but it wasn't enough to get the Flames out of 14th place in the 15 team tournament. Tobias Pettersson (73-72-70—215) shot one under par during the third round to finish tied for 13th. Jay Calvo (76-76-74—226) finished tied for 54th with Preston Dembowiak (79-72-75—226). Sang Chun (76-81-75—232) and Nathan Schenz-Davis (73-84-81—238) rounded out the Flame five.

John Hahn (207) of Kent State finished two strokes behind the medalist at six under, while Chris DeForest (208) of Illinois started the day tied for 18th, but shot a 64 in the final round to finish in third place at five under par.

Illinois (843) won the championship, while Indiana (848) made a push, finishing only five strokes back. Tulsa (865) rounded out the top three. Big South member Coastal Carolina (882) also participated in the tournament, finishing in 10th place.

Liberty returns to the links for a two-day, 54-hole tournament hosted by the Flames. The annual Frank Landrey Invitational tees off at the Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville, Va., on Oct. 13.
