Former Liberty men's soccer player Osei Telesford started for his native country, Trinidad & Tobago, Wednesday night, in a 2010 World Cup Qualifying against the United States.

Telesford played all 90 minutes of the contest at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill., just outside Chicago. The Liberty graduate patrolled the midfield for his native team and was featured before the game on ESPN 2's coverage, as a player to watch for visiting Trinidad & Tobago squad. In the game, a Group 1 qualifier for the World Cup, the United States handed Trinidad & Tobago a 3-0 setback.

The defeat left Trinidad & Tobago, with four points in group play, tied for second in the Group 1 semifinals of North and Central America and the Caribbean with Guatemala. Meanwhile, the United States leads the group with nine points. The top two teams from the four-team group moved onto the World Cup Qualifying finals, which begins in February of next year.
