For the second-straight NFL preseason game, former Flames football player Vince Redd made an impact for the New England Patriots, Sunday evening, this time on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium.

Redd finished the contest fourth on the squad in tackles with four stops, two solo and two assisted, and a quarterback hurry. The outside linebacker also added a 13-yard sack of Buccaneers' quarterback Josh Johnson midway through the fourth quarter.

Despite the effort from Redd, the Buccaneers jumped out to a 17-3 lead during the first half and never looked back en route to a 27-10 win over the Patriots. The set back marks the second-straight defeat for the defending AFC champions during their preseason schedule.

Following two NFL preseason games, Redd ranks No. 6 on the Patriots with five tackles, three solo and two assisted. The outside linebacker is one of five players on the squad to have recorded a sack.

Redd had a familiar face alongside of him during the Sunday night contest, as New England signed former Flames offensive lineman Stephen Sene to a free agent contract on Friday.

Sene and Redd both signed with NFL teams on May 1, with Redd going to the Patriots and Sene signing with the St. Louis Rams. However, Sene was released by the Rams on July 28. The 6-6, 310-pound offensive lineman did see some playing time against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Redd and Sene will try to help New England pick up its first preseason victory of the year on Friday, when they host the Philadelphia Eagles. The third of four preseason games for the Patriots will be played at 7:30 p.m., in Foxborough, Mass., at Gillette Stadium.
