Just two days before it begins defense of its IC4A title, the Liberty men's track & field team has been ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 poll for the sixth consecutive week. The Flames are listed No. 21 this week.

The Flames, who have been ranked as high as No. 14 during the current outdoor track & field season, dropped one spot from last week's No. 20 ranking. Head coach Brant Tolsma's squad is the only Big South team, the only IC4A team and the only Virginia squad ranked in this week's poll.

Liberty's ranking is bolstered by a trio of seniors, who are each listed in the top five on the NCAA performance lists. Clendon Henderson (Meadow, Texas) sits at No. 3 in the discus throw, with a top effort of 204-3. Brandon Hoskins (Garden City, Texas) is No. 3 on the decathlon list, on the strength of his 7,800-point effort at the Texas Relays. Finally, Josh McDougal's (Peru, N.Y.) 13:37.13 clocking in the 5,000-meter run at the Mt. SAC Relays has him in the No. 5 position. All three are slated to compete this weekend.

Texas A&M remains No. 1 for the second straight week, while two-time defending national champion Florida State jumped two places into the No. 2 slot. The poll changed very little, as action was light last weekend, prior to this weekend's numerous conference meets.

The 132nd IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be contested at William Weaver Track & Field Stadium in Princeton, N.J., this Friday through Sunday. Liberty won the team title last season, for only the second time in program history.
