Liberty Concludes Season at Cavalier Classic
The Liberty men's golf team finished the 2007-08 season in ninth place out of 20 teams at the Cavalier Classic, played at the 6,879-yard, par-72 Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va., Sunday.

Liberty (605) finished in ninth place, 30 strokes behind tournament champion and host Virginia (575). Nathan Schenz-Davis (150) led the way for the Flames, shooting six-over par. Stephen Hawk (151) and Peter Horstman (152) finished back-to-back, at seven and eight over par, respectively. Jay Calvo (154) concluded his final tournament of the season at 10-over par, while Parker McKoy (155) wrapped up his collegiate career at 11-over par.

Virginia won the championship, followed by Augusta State (578) in second place, only three strokes back. N.C. State (584) finished the tournament in third place, nine strokes behind the Cavaliers.

Henrik Norlander (139) of Augusta State won medalist honors at five-under par. Greg Carlin (140) of Virginia and Brad Revell (140) of N.C. State both finished four-under par, one stroke behind Norlander. John Murphy (141) of Old Dominion rounded out the top golfers at three-under par.
