LU Golf Battles After First Day of Big South
First Day Results

The Liberty men's golf team sits tied for sixth out of seven squads after two rounds at the Big South Men's Golf Championship, played at the 7,079-yard, par-72 Patriot Golf Club in Ninety-Six, S.C., Monday.

Liberty (620) and High Point (620) share sixth place, as each team sits 34 strokes behind tournament leader Coastal Carolina (586). Radford (596) is in second place, 10 strokes behind the Chanticleers, while Charleston Southern (604) resides in third place.

Jay Calvo (149) is tied for seventh in the individual standings, six shots behind the tournament leader, and five strokes over par. David Jeh (151) is tied for 14th, while all-conference performer Nathan Schenz-Davis (157) sits 13 strokes over par. Rounding out the Flames' squad are Andrew Nelson (163) and Parker McKoy (165) at 19 and 21-over par, respectively, through the first two rounds.

David Dannelly (143) of Coastal Carolina is in line for medalist honors, as he is the only golfer in the tournament shooting under par. There is a four-way tie for second place, consisting of Hampton Ballard (147) of Radford, Lindsay Renolds (147) of Coastal Carolina, Thomas Todd (147) of Presbyterian and Chris Dillow (147) of Radford.

The Big South Championship concludes with the third and final round, tomorrow at the 7,079-yard, par-72 Patriot Golf Club, in Ninety-Six, S.C.
