Women Place Third At McDonald's CC Festival

Liberty's women's cross country team placed third this afternoon at the McDonald's CC Festival on the McDonald's CC Festival at Maymont.

The Lady Flames placed third with 80 points behind William and Mary (34) and Fordham (39), while Richmond (89) placed fourth and Ursinus (144) placed fifth to round out the top five.

Pacing Liberty was Jamie Watson (Fr., Ravenna, Mich.), who placed fifth overall with a time of 20:51. Asia Ramey (So., Marengo, Ohio) finished 13th and Rebekah Ricksecker (Fr., Laurel, Del.) finished 16th with times of 21:29 and 21:35.

Rounding out the Lady Flames' top 5 scorers were Piper Newby (So., Hayden Lake, Idaho) and Rebekah Walquist (So., Richmond, Va.) who placed 22nd and 24th with times of 22:02 and 22:23, respectively.

The rest of the women's team and the men's full squad will be back in action tomorrow as they travel to Stanford, Calif., to run at the Stanford Invitational.
