The Liberty men's track & field team, shown above celebrating its 11th straight Big South indoor title, is listed No. 14 in this week's USTFCCCA Top 25 poll.

After an extremely successful showing at last weekend's 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, the Liberty men's track & field team has earned the No. 14 ranking in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Top 25 poll.

Senior Clendon Henderson (Meadow, Texas) won both the shot put and discus titles at the Texas Relays, while fellow Lone Star State native Brandon Hoskins (Sr., Garden City, Texas) finished third in the decathlon. Meanwhile, Jon Hart (Sr., Wyomissing, Pa.) captured third place in the men's hammer competition. All three Liberty standout seniors currently rank among the NCAA's top 10 performers in their respective specialty events and have helped boost the Flames upward from their No. 20 preseason national ranking.

Henderson leads the nation and ranks No. 10 in the world with his 204-3 discus effort at the Texas Relays. Hoskins, who broke the Liberty and Big South decathlon records by scoring 7,800 points at Texas, is No. 2 on the decathlon list. Finally, Hart sits No. 8 in the hammer throw, with a top mark of 213-11.

In addition, five other Liberty men's athletes have qualified for the NCAA East Regional Championships and thus contributed to the Flames' national ranking. The list of regional qualifiers also includes Evans Kigen (So., Eldoret, Kenya) – steeplechase, Daniel Newell (Jr., Roanoke, Va.) – decathlon, Matt Parker (Jr., Rome, N.Y.) – high jump, Clarence Powell (Fr., Marianna, Fla.) – triple jump and Kolby Shepherd (Fr., Dublin, Ga.) – pole vault.

Fourteen-time All-American Josh McDougal (Sr., Peru, N.Y.) has not yet raced during the current outdoor track & field season. Thus, he does not figure into the USTFCCCA Top 25 rankings, which are strictly derived from the NCAA performance lists.

Texas A&M is this week's No. 1 team, followed closely by Florida and UCLA. Two-time defending national champion Florida State sits No. 6.

The Flames will tune up for the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships locally this weekend. Liberty will make the short trek to Lynchburg College for this Saturday's Lynchburg Track & Field Classic.
