Last Friday night the Liberty student-athlete advisory committee (S.A.A.C.) hosted Dodgeball Madness 2008 in the Schilling Center, on the campus of Liberty University.

Over 250 participants and 200 spectators crammed into the Schilling Center for the event, which was to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. S.A.A.C. raised $900 during the event, bringing the academic year total to $4,000. S.A.A.C. has a goal of raising $6,500 for the year.

Teams dressed up, making their own uniforms, including the Liberty Athletics Department who had a team entered. The Athletics Department recorded one win before being eliminated in the double-elimination tournament. The champions of Dodgeball Madness 2008 were the Shenanigans.

"The students absolutely loved the event," said Associate Athletics Director Meredith Hollyfield, who oversees S.A.A.C. "They all asked if we could do this again."

Courtney Johnson (Softball), Dave McCall (Men's Soccer) and Casey McKether (Cheerleading) spearheaded all event planning for S.A.A.C. Oronde Vassell (Men's Track) was the DJ for the event.
