Round Two Canceled Due To Rain
Due to torrential rains in Greenville, N.C., the 2008 Ironwood Pirate Intercollegiate has been reduced to a 36-hole tournament, as play Saturday was canceled. Play will resume tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. at the 7,102-yard, par-72 Ironwood Country Club, in Greenville, N.C.

Liberty (290) is second, four strokes behind first-place Newberry (286), through 18 holes. Following Newberry and Liberty at the top of the leaderboard is St. John's (294), eight strokes behind the leader. Host East Carolina (295) and Francis Marion (295) are each within in range as well, nine strokes behind Newberry.

Daniel Stanley (68) of Newberry and Alex Snickenberger (68) of Boston College are tied for medalist honors at four-under par. Ben Lown (69) of Newberry is breathing down the leaders' necks at three-under, while Christopher Couch (70) of Francis Marion and Daniel Castleberry (70) of Barton are tied for fourth at two-under. During the first day of competition, the Flames were led by Parker McKoy (72) and Jay Calvo (72), both of whom are tied for eighth at even-par.
