Head men's basketball coach Ritchie McKay has announced that Matt Olinger is the team's new director of basketball operations. Olinger, the head manager the past three seasons, replaces Tommy Cromwell, who left the position to pursue opportunities outside of basketball.

"Matt is a great addition to our staff," said McKay. "I am extremely pleased with Matt's efforts as our head manager and am excited to promote within the family."

Olinger concluded his fifth season as a manager for the Liberty men's basketball program in March and is the only remaining member of the Flames' 2004 Big South Championship team.

"I am really excited about the opportunity Coach McKay has extended to me," said Olinger. "It is a privilege to be a part of this staff, and I am excited at the direction this program is taking."

The Indianapolis, Ind., native will graduate with a bachelor's degree in sport management in May from Liberty.
