Liberty One Stroke Off Team Lead
The Liberty men's golf team sits tied for second place out of 19 squads after one round at Towson's Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational, played on a cold and blustery day at the 6,761-yard, par-72 Prospect Bay Country Club, in Grasonville, Md., on Saturday.
Liberty (300) is tied for second with Longwood, just one stroke behind first-place UNC Greensboro (299), through 18 holes. During the first day of competition, the Flames were led by Parker McKoy (70), who leads all golfers at two-under par. Andrew Nelson (75) is tied for 12th at three-over par, while Nathan Schenz-Davis (77) is tied for 31st at five-over par. David Je (78) and Sang Chun (79) round out the Flame five, finishing day one at six and seven-over par, respectively.
Following UNC Greensboro, Longwood and Liberty at the top of the board is James Madison (306), seven strokes behind the leader. Army (307) is within in range, eight strokes behind UNC Greensboro.
Darragh Coghlan (72) of UNC Greensboro sits two strokes behind McKoy, while there is a three-way tie for third place between Dan Abbonadandolo (73) of Siena, Adam Webb (73) of Longwood and Ryan Swanson of St. Bonaventure (73), who are all deadlocked at one-over par.
Towson's Lacrosse Homes Collegiate Invitational concludes with a final round, tomorrow at the 6,761-yard, par-72 Prospect Bay Country Club, in Grasonville, Md.
