Lady Flames Take Morning Match 7-0

Fresh off a dominant performance on Monday, the Lady Flames tennis team squared off against Hastings College in the first of two matches in Port St. Lucie Fla., Tuesday. Liberty defeated the Broncos 7-0 for its second consecutive sweep.

The Lady Flames performed well early on, winning all three doubles matches, 8-0, to earn the point.

Success continued for Liberty, as the team took all six matches, giving up only two games over the six singles matches. In No. 1 singles, Jordan Jenkins defeated Hastings' Alexia Spencer in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Martyna Hanusz, Hannah Fick and Fabiana Gouveia followed suit with straight set, 6-0, 6-0 victories in No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Ekaterina Kuznetsova took No. 3 singles in convincing fashion, winning in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1. In No. 4 singles, Stephanie Brown defeated Hastings' Ashley Portzeba, 6-1, 6-0.

The Lady Flames, now 7-3, look to finish out the day undefeated, as they take on McMurry in the evening contest at 5 p.m.
