Day One Results

The Liberty men's golf team sits in sixth place out of 19 squads after one round at William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate, played at the 6,809-yard, par-71 Kingsmill Resort, in Williamsburg, Va., on Monday.

Liberty (293) is sixth, eight strokes behind first-place Francis Marion (286), through 18 holes. During the first day of competition, the Flames were led by Parker McKoy (71) who is tied for sixth, as the senior finished even on the first day. Peter Horstman (73) is tied for 16 at two-over, while Nathan Schenz-Davis, Stephen Hawk and Jay Calvo are all knotted at 36th after each shot a 75.

Following Francis Marion at the top of the pack are Detroit Mercy (290), four strokes back, and Gardner-Webb (292), six strokes back.

Andy Whalen (68) of St. Bonaventure and Mark Sommerfeld (68) are in a first-place tie for medalist honors, at 3 under. Ronan O'Connor (69) of Francis Marion is in third, one stroke off the leaders.

William & Mary's First Bank Intercollegiate concludes with a final round, tomorrow at the 6,809-yard, par-71 Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
