LU Finishs Seventh at Argonaut Invitational
The Liberty men's golf team finished in seventh place out of 10 squads at the Argonaut Invitational, played at the 6,815-yard, par-72 Pensacola Country Club, in Pensacola, Fla., on Tuesday.
Liberty (883) finished seventh, 36 strokes behind host and tournament champion West Florida (847). The Flames were led by Nathan Schenz-Davis (215), as the sophomore tied for ninth at 1 under. Parker McKoy (217) finished 1 over and tied for 15th, while Peter Horstman (223) finished at 7 over. Andrew Nelson (228) and Jay Calvo (235) round out the Flame five at 12 and 19 over, respectively.
Falling short of host West Florida at the top was Illinois (860), 13 strokes back, and New Orleans (866), 19 strokes back.
Scott Langley (208) of Illinois held on to his lead to earn medalist honors, at 8 under. Otto Bonning (209) and Tobias Rosendahl (211) of West Florida finished on the leader's heels, finishing the tournament at 7 and 5 under, respectively.
Golf is back in action at William & Mary's First Market Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. on March 17-18. The tournament will take place at the Kingsmill Resort River Course.
