The Mountaineers pushed their winning streak to four straight with a 30-9 dual-match victory over visiting Liberty, Tuesday evening, inside Varsity Gym.

With the victory, Appalachian State pushes its dual record to 11-7, while the loss evens Liberty's record to 11-11-1 on the year.

The Mountaineers set the tone for the match early on, winning the first two bouts by fall. Starting at 157 pounds, Eddie Hutchinson pinned Julian Colon 52 seconds into the match, followed by Tommy Hutchinson's win by fall over Chad Porter at 165 pounds (3:39).

Aaron Kelley got the Flames on the scoreboard, pulling out a narrow 4-3 decision at 174 pounds over Neal Martin to trim Appalachian State's lead to 12-3.

The homestanding grapplers took the next two bouts, beginning with Austin Trotman's 9-3 decision over Chris Daggett at 184 pounds. Dylan Temple pushed Appalachian State's edge to 19-3 with 10-0 major decision over Nick Knowles at 197 pounds.

Appalachian State continued its two-bout win spurts by claiming victory at 125 and 133 pounds for a 26-6 advantage. Frank Celorrio defeated Sean Katz, 5-0, at 125, followed by Terreyl William's 15-6 major decision victory over Christian Smith, who wrestled competitively for the first time since Dec. 29.

The two squads split the final two weight classes of the evening, beginning with Tim Harner's 5-3 decision victory for Liberty at 141 pounds over Mark Maya. Scott Ervin, who is currently ranked No. 12 nationally at 149 pounds, rounded out the evening for Appalachian State with an 18-4 decision over Scott Clymer, sealing the 30-9 victory.

The Flames will return to the wrestling mats for their final regular-season dual match next week when they travel to Lexington, Va., to grapple with VMI. The opening whistle is schedule to sound at 7:30 p.m., inside the Thunderdome on Feb. 22.
