For the third-consecutive week, the Liberty men's track & field team is ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Top 25. This week, the Flames check in at No. 23.

Liberty has been rated as high as No. 7 this season, using the USTFCCCA's mathematical formula, which is strictly based on the NCAA national performance lists. Tennessee remains No. 1 in this week's poll. The Volunteers are followed by Arizona State and Texas A&M.

A quartet of head coach Brant Tolsma's Flames appear on the performance lists, having met either the provisional or qualifying marks for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, slated for March 14-15 in Fayetteville, Ark.

Senior Josh McDougal (Peru, N.Y.) owns an automatic qualifier in the 5,000 meters and a provisional mark in the 3,000 meters. His 5,000-meter clocking of 13:45.16 is the world's fastest of the indoor season. McDougal's 7:57.90 effort at the 3,000-meter distance stands No. 12 on the NCAA list.

Fellow senior Clendon Henderson (Meadow, Texas) threw the shot put 61-10.5 on Jan. 12. His provisional qualifying mark, a Liberty and Big South Conference record, sits No. 6 nationally.

Junior Matt Parker (Rome, N.Y.) also set a conference mark with his 7-0.25 high jump, a provisional height. He is one of 10 athletes currently sharing spot No. 15 on the national performance list.

Senior Jon Hart (Wyomissing, Pa.) resides at No. 22 on the weight throw list, with his top throw of 65-2. His heave garnered provisional qualification to the national meet.

The Flames are not scheduled to compete this coming weekend. They will return to the track Feb. 22-23, at the Virginia Tech Challenge in Blacksburg, Va.
