After beginning the season with a win over Richmond, the Liberty men's tennis team fell to East Carolina, 7-0, Thursday in Greenville, N.C.

Doubles action proved to foreshadow the entire evening, as the Pirates swept all three doubles matches to earn the point.

Unfortunately for the Flames, the trend continued, as ECU also took all six singles matches. Liberty looked to break through in No.5 singles, as Rafael Riso took the second set 6-2 to even his contest with Brian Oakley. However, Oakley rebounded to take the third set and the match-up.

The Flames, now 1-1 on the season, return to Lynchburg on Saturday to host Appalachian State. The contest is set to take place indoors at the Sports Racket. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
