For the second-consecutive week, the Liberty men's indoor track & field team is ranked in the USTFCCCA Division I Top 25. The Flames are listed No. 17 in the current rankings, announced earlier today.

Liberty debuted at No. 7 a week ago, in the rankings sponsored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The teams are ordered by a mathematical formula, based on the current NCAA performance lists.

Four different Flames athletes appear on those lists, after having either automatically or provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for March 14-15 in Fayetteville, Ark.

Senior Josh McDougal (Peru, N.Y.) has qualified in both distance events. He posted an automatic qualifying time of 13:45.16 in the 5,000 meters, which still ranks as the fastest indoor time in the world this year. He is also listed No. 4 on the 3,000-meter list, with a provisional clocking of 7:57.90.

Clendon Henderson (Sr., Meadow, Texas), who won the shot put crown at last weekend's Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, sits No. 5 on the shot put performance list. His top mark this season is 61-10.5.

Classmate and fellow thrower Jon Hart (Wyomissing, Pa.) is ranked No. 20 in the men's weight throw. His provisional qualifier is 65-2.

Finally, Matt Parker (Jr., Rome, N.Y.) is one of 11 high jumpers tied for No. 14 on the national list. The Empire State native's best clearance is 7-0.25.

The top three teams in this week's rankings all hail from the SEC. Tennessee leads the way, followed by Florida and last week's No. 1 team, Arkansas.

The nationally-ranked Flames will compete in front of their home fans for the final time this indoor season, Friday at the Liberty Quad. The first event on the docket at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center is the men's weight throw, scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
