Liberty's 2007 Soccer was recognized as a "Season to Remember" by the College Soccer News.

The 2007 Big South Champion Liberty Flames Men's Soccer team has been recognized as one of 17 NCAA Division I teams with a "Season to Remember" by the College Soccer News.

The web site paid tribute to the programs which "greatly exceeded expectations, or won more games than ever before, or accomplished something that will be a springboard for future seasons, or put together an improbable run" in its article "A Shining Season – For Some 2007 A Season to Remember."

The article can be accessed by clicking on the link www.collegesoccernews.com or by going to the web site itself College Soccer News.com.

"We are honored that College Soccer News has recognized the outstanding season our team had in 2007. We have great respect and admiration for the teams that they have recognized and feel humbled to be mentioned with Wake Forest, Ohio State, UCONN, etc.," stated Liberty head coach Jeff Alder.

The Flames, who were 13-5-2 this past fall, won their first Big South Championship this season and made their first trip to the NCAA College Cup. Liberty was ranked among the top teams in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) South Atlantic Region weekly poll the entire season.
