Getting to know Nathan Campbell.

In its continuing coverage of Liberty athletics, LibertyFlames.com opens up the New Year with a return of a new series for the men's basketball season. Each week, fans will get a little insight into a different member of the Flames' hoops roster.

The series continues with the newcomers to the program, giving fans a glance at the new faces. In this edition, we will get a look at freshman Nathan Campbell.

The File on Mr. Campbell
Campbell is a 6-6 forward from Cary, N.C. Campbell graduated from Cary High School, where he averaged 14.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game as a senior.

The freshman played a prep season at national power Hargrave Military Academy in nearby Chatham, Va., in 2007. Campbell is the first player to ever sign with Liberty out of Hargrave Military Academy, which has sent numerous alumni to the SEC, ACC and NBA, including Josh Howard of the Dallas Mavericks, who attended Wake Forest after his days at Hargrave.

Campbell averaged 6.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game on a Hargrave team, which had 11 players sign National Letters of Intent with NCAA Division I schools. Some others on that list include Jeremy Jacob with Georgia , Jordan Crawford with Indiana, Eric Wallace with Ohio State, Jeff Allen and Dorenzo Hudson with Virginia Tech and Mike Scott with Virginia.
