Liberty's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has developed a relationship with Lynchburg's Runk & Pratt Nursing Home this holiday season.

Just after Thanksgiving, 25 Liberty student-athletes hosted a bingo night at the home. Thirty-five patients participated and winners were rewarded with Liberty Athletics paraphernalia donated by the different teams.

On Monday night, SAAC spearheaded an evening of Christmas caroling at the home. Again, 25 student-athletes partook in the event, splitting into groups of five and going from room to room, spreading Christmas cheer. At the end of the evening, everyone gathered in a common area for more caroling and visiting.

SAAC is a body of student-athletes (two representatives from each athletic team), cheerleaders and student trainers who have been selected by the Liberty Athletics Administration, coaches and student-athletes. SAAC provides its members an environment to express opinions, concerns and new ideas which could enhance the student-athletes' experience at Liberty. The committee also offers student-athletes an opportunity to have a more personal relationship with members of the athletics department administration and the community by assisting local charities and community programs.
