Liberty-California Match Moved to 5 p.m.

The Liberty volleyball team will square off with California, Friday at 5 p.m. at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The NCAA has announced a time change for Friday's NCAA Division I Volleyball Tournament opening-round matches at Duke's Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. Liberty will now meet California, seeded No. 10 nationally, in the day's opening match, scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.

The Liberty-California contest had originally been slated for 7 p.m. The later time slot will now feature host Duke's opening match versus American. Friday's two winners will meet Saturday at 5 p.m., with the victor advancing to the Madison, Wis., regional.

Liberty, which is 27-8 overall and captured its first Big South Championship since 2001, is making its fourth trip to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Tournament. The Lady Flames also appeared in the postseason in 1997, 1999 and 2001. Liberty will be matched up with California for the first time in program history.

7 p.m. - Duke (24-6) vs. American (26-7)

Saturday, Dec. 1 (Second Round)
5 p.m. - Winner of California/Liberty vs. Winner of Duke/American
(Winner advances to Madison, Wis. Regional)
