The Liberty Flames men's soccer team has garnered the No. 2 seed in next week's Big South Men's Soccer Championship, which is set to begin Thursday in Rock Hill, S.C. The seedings were determined today, after the conclusion of the conference season this afternoon.

Liberty finished second in the Big South regular-season standings with a 5-1 league mark. The Flames will square off against No. 7 UNC Asheville, who completed conference play with a 0-6 record, in the second game of the day on Thursday.

Liberty will enter the contest with a 10-4-2 overall record, the most victories by a Flames' men's soccer squad since 2002 (11-8-2). Liberty closed out its regular-season and conference play this past Tuesday, with a 4-1 win over VMI at Liberty Soccer Field.

Coastal Carolina won the 2007 Big South men's soccer regular-season championship with a perfect 6-0 conference mark. The Chanticleers capture the No. 1 seed for the tournament and receive a first round bye. Coastal Carolina will square off with the winner of No. 4 seed Radford and No. 5 seed VMI

Winthrop, who posted a 3-2-1 conference record, will be the conference's No. 3 seed. Radford at 3-3 and VMI at 2-3-1 claim the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively. High Point, with a 1-5 record, finishes sixth to become the tournament's No. 6 seed, while UNC Asheville rounds out the field with the No. 7 seed.

The 2007 Big South Men's Soccer Championship will be played on the campus of Winthrop University, begins Thursday with three games, and concludes with the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 18. The Big South Champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 15
Game 1: No. 4 Radford vs. No. 5 VMI, 1 p.m.
Game 2: No. 2 Liberty vs. No. 7 UNC Asheville, 4 p.m.
Game 3: No. 3 Winthrop vs. No. 6 High Point, 7 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 16
Game 4: Game 1 winner vs. No. 1 Coastal Carolina (Semifinals), 4 p.m.
Game 5: Game 2 winner vs. Game 3 winner (Semifinals), 7 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 18
Game 6: Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 winner (Championship), 2 p.m.
