McDougal and Newby take home Student-Athlete of the Month honors for October.

Domino's Pizza and the Liberty University Senate Athletic Committee are proud to present the Student-Athlete of the Month honor to one male athlete and one female athlete who demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, spiritual life and community service.

After consulting athletic statistics, academic standings, coaches, professors and student conduct offices, the committee selected nominees from various university sports teams and voted.

The October honors go to Josh McDougal and Piper Newby of the men's and women's cross country teams. Piper placed sixth at the Notre Dame Invitational, and Josh won the Notre Dame Invitational. Both participated with Habitat for Humanity and have maintained noteworthy academic standings. Congratulations to Josh and Piper for maintaining a standard of excellence in all these essential areas of life!
