Liberty's Mickey DeMorat and Isaiah Logue were two of the 10 players named to the 2017 Virginia State Golf Coaches Association (VSGCA) All-State team.

The Flames' pair of junior golfers were both named to the second team listing, joining Richmond's Keegan Hoff, Virginia Tech's Sarit Suwannarut and Virginia's Danny Walker.

The 2017 VSGCA All-State first team was comprised of Virginia's Derek Bard, Jimmy Stanger and Thomas Walsh, as well as, James Madison's Ryan Cole and Virginia Tech's Mark Lawrence, Jr. Virginia's Bowen Sargent was named the 2017 VSGCA Coach of the Year.

Logue has been named to the VSGCA All-State team the previous two years (2015 – second team; 2016 – first team), while DeMorat was a second-team honoree in 2016.

Logue led the Flames during the 2016-17 season, finishing his third year at Liberty with a 71.80 season stroke average. The mark ranks third best in program history, only trailing the junior (71.28) and senior (71.65) season stroke averages of All-American Robert Karlsson.

Logue posted the second best season stroke average in the Big South Conference this season, earning All-Big South honors for the third year in a row.

DeMorat finished just behind Logue's scoring average with a 71.81 mark, which ranks fourth best in program history.

The native of Merritt Island, Fla. was an All-Big South selection and one of five players named to the Big South All-Championship listing following Liberty's second-place showing at the 2017 Big South Men's Golf Championship in April.

DeMorat missed the first half of Liberty's spring season due to an injury, but still managed to finish tied for third on the team with four top-10 finishes and tied for second with a pair of top-five showings.

Liberty finished the 2016-17 season ranked No. 49 in the final Golfstat national rankings, spending each week of the season in the top-50 national rankings. The Flames spotlighted the run with a No. 22 ranking on Oct. 22.

Following a second-place finish at the 2017 Big South Men's Golf Championship, the Flames earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Regional.
