Liberty Football Participates in Final Thank-A-Thon of 2016-17 Academic Year
The Flames Club recently held its final Thank-A-Thon event of the school year on May 3, with 19 Liberty football student-athletes participating in the event.
The event, the 14th Thank-A-Thon since its inception in March of 2015, was held at the River Ridge Campus Call Center, with Liberty Flames football players making nearly 300 calls to Flames Club members.
Liberty Associate AD for Development and Flames Club Executive Director Bob Good sees two benefits to the Thank-A-Thon events.
"The two-fold purpose is to express our gratitude to our donors from those who most benefit from their generosity and to educate our student-athletes about the Flames Club by involving them personally in the appreciation effort," Good stated.
Since the events began just over two years ago, 285 Liberty student-athletes have participated, making more than 4,000 calls to Flames club members.
The Flames Club's mission is to generate financial resources to support the three-fold Liberty athletics mission of training champions for Christ, providing a world-class student-athlete experience and achieving victory with integrity. Good says that the Flames Club's goal for 2017 is to reach 1,250 members who contribute $1 million in Annual Fund gifts.
Membership begins at just $60, and all of Flames Nation is asked to make an annual contribution to support Liberty athletics. Members can enjoy preferred parking, seating and pregame hospitality privileges for football, basketball and baseball.
