Big South Weekly Football Report
For the second time this year, Liberty's Rashad Jennings and Noah Greenbaum have been named Big South Players of the Week on the same day, honoring the duo's contributions to Liberty's 50-10 Big South win over Charleston Southern, Saturday afternoon, at CSU Stadium.
Liberty's 40-point win over the Buccaneers was the Flames' largest margin of victory over a Big South opponent and the fourth largest in conference history. Both Jennings and Greenbaum played significant roles in the victory, earning league Offensive and Special Teams honors, respectively.
Jennings (Jr., RB, Forest, Va.) rushed for a game-high 131 yards on 20 carries and scored two touchdowns in the win. He averaged 6.6 yards per rushing attempt, recorded his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game and his second-straight multi-touchdown game.
Jennings scored the Flames' second touchdown of the contest at 10:59 of the second quarter, giving Liberty the lead for good at 17-10. He then set up a field goal with a career-long 64-yard reception late in the first half and added a two-yard scoring plunge in the third quarter. Jennings caught two passes for 80 yards, finishing the day with 211 all-purpose yards.
Greenbaum (K, Sr., Richmond, Va.) tied a season-high with 14 points scored on Saturday. He knocked down 5-of-6 PAT attempts and also connected on 3-of-4 field goal kicks, hitting from 20, 33 and 27 yards. His three field goals are a season best, and he scored 10 points in a game for the third time this season.
Jennings and Greenbaum were also named Big South Players of the Week on Sept. 17, after the pair of gridiron battlers tallied impressive numbers in a double overtime contest at William & Mary.
The remaining two Big South weekly honorees were Gardner-Webb's Brian Johnston, who was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week, and Coastal Carolina's Keon Cunningham, who was selected Big South Freshman of the Week.
Jennings and Greenbaum, along with the rest of the Flames, will open a three-game homestand this weekend, when Liberty welcomes future Big South foe Presbyterian to Williams Stadium. Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
