McKay Announces Alumni Game and Open Scrimmage for Homecoming Weekend
Liberty Head Men's Basketball coach Ritchie McKay has announced two basketball events scheduled for Homecoming weekend.

First, Liberty will hold an alumni game on Oct. 26, in the Vines Center. The game will tip at the conclusion of the volleyball contest, which starts at 7 p.m. There will be a complimentary dinner for all Liberty Basketball Alumni, which will be held in the team room during the volleyball match.

"I speak for myself and my staff when I say that I am very excited about the alumni game," said McKay. "It gives us a chance to meet some of the players we have heard and read about. It also gives our current team the opportunity to reunite with some of the individuals who helped establish Liberty Basketball." McKay went on to kid those who will attend, "I am also anxious to see if the alumni can still do line drills in the appropriate time allotted."

For more information on the alumni game, call Thomas Cromwell at (434) 582-2411.

As Homecoming weekend continues, the public will get its first chance to view the 2007-08 Flames on Oct. 27. Liberty will open up an intra-squad scrimmage, complete with officials, to the public at 10:45 a.m., in the Vines Center.

"It will be a great day for everyone to see our guys work out in the Vines Center," said McKay. "This will give our players their first chance to play in front of some friendly faces, finishing just in time for a little tailgating, prior to cheering on our football team against Presbyterian."
