Nicki Scripko has captured back-to-back Big South Freshman of the Week awards, after helping Liberty sweep four-consecutive opponents for the first time in eight years.

Liberty freshman right-side hitter Nicki Scripko has been named the Big South Conference New Balance Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive time, after leading the Lady Flames to 3-0 sweeps of Presbyterian and UNC Asheville over the weekend.

Scripko (Fayetteville, N.C.) got her week started with a match-high 15 kills and a career-best .591 attack percentage, Friday evening against Presbyterian. She then came back two days later to record her seventh double-double of the year, tallying 11 kills and 14 digs versus UNC Asheville. Scripko hit .474 against the Bulldogs, completing a four-match homestand in which she compiled a .478 attack percentage.

Scripko is one of two Big South players to win a pair of freshman of the week honors this season, joining Coastal Carolina's Chelsy Kimes. Scripko has stepped up her production since the start of conference play, ranking second in the Big South for both attack percentage (.339) and kills per game (4.14) in conference matches. Her efforts have helped Liberty win five of its first six Big South tilts and claim second place in the conference standings.

Scripko and her teammates will take to the road this evening, for a 6 p.m. non-conference match at East Tennessee State. Liberty will look to extend its season-long four-match winning streak and snap the Buccaneers' 13-match home winning streak.
