Jennings Named Big South Player of the Week
Rashad Jennings posted his second-straight 100-yard rushing game on Saturday against Toledo, helping the junior earn Big South Choice Hotels Offensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the league today.

Jennings (RB, Lynchburg, Va.) ran for a season-high 160 yards on 24 carries, averaging 6.7 yards per rushing attempt. The yardage total was the third highest of his career. Jennings has now rushed for 100 yards in eight out of his 15 games in a Liberty uniform.

The running back also scored two touchdowns on the evening, giving him 15 over his career, which places him tied for tenth in Big South Conference history. The 160 yards gained on the ground also enabled Jennings to crack the conference's Top 10 all-time rushing list. He now ranks No. 9 on the list with 1,443 career rushing yards.

Jennings and the Flames came within a few minutes of posting the program's second win over a FBS school when Liberty lost, 35-34, to Toledo on a late fourth quarter touchdown over the weekend.

Jennings and the Flames have the upcoming weekend off, which will allow them extra time to prepare for their Big South opener on Oct. 20 against Charleston Southern. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at CSU Stadium in Charleston, S.C.
