LibertyFlames.com Releases Elon Game Day Central Page
Game Day Central – Liberty vs. Elon

After a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to William & Mary last weekend in Williamsburg, Liberty continues a two-game road swing on Saturday. The Flames will look to rebound on Saturday against former Big South foe Elon. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m., at Rhodes Stadium (11,250) in Elon, N.C.

The game renews one of the oldest running series in program history. Liberty and Elon have squared off 10 times prior to today, making the Phoenix one of seven teams Liberty has met on the gridiron 10 or more times.

Liberty took the last game in the series in 2004, handing the visiting Phoenix a 27-17 defeat on Nov. 20 to close out a four-game winning streak to end the campaign.

However, Elon has controlled the series from the get go, with the Phoenix holding a 7-3 edge. The squads first met in 1976, with Elon claiming a 59-14 victory in Burlington, N.C.

Liberty's only road victory over Elon came in 1988 when the Flames rolled up 42 points en route to a 42-14 win, Oct. 8, in Burlington.

For more information about the game, be sure to check out this week's Game Day Central page. A new Game Day Central page will be released each Wednesday during the football season.

The web page is one-stop shopping for a true Flames supporter, as the page includes pertinent information for the upcoming game. The web page includes quick links to both Liberty and its weekly opponent's roster, schedule, coaching staff, media guide and game notes.

The football Game Day Central page is a quick reference point for all web-based multimedia game materials, including links to the Flames Sports Network's free audio stream, a live stats link and a spot to sign up for video streaming of select home and road contests, provided by the Big South EDGE.

Some of the new features on the improved web page are links to venue information, including directions to Williams Stadium, a Liberty University campus map, ticketing and parking information, plus a quick link to the latest weather forecast for the greater Lynchburg area or local forecast for road contests.

The final new item on the page is a link to the Flames Club activities, for both home and road contests. The page lists events for both the Flames Club and Student Flames Club, providing readers a detailed description of the booster club organization's game day functions.
