Every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday throughout the women's soccer season, fans will have an opportunity to get to know the Lady Flames a bit better through a question-and-answer session. Today, the series contines with senior Tanya Payne.

Senior midfielder Tanya Payne is a native of Prescott, Ariz. This season, Payne has returned to the midfield for the Lady Flames after two seasons as a defender. In 2005, she was a Big South first-team all-conference and a VaSID first-team all-state selection. Off the field, the senior is the Liberty Student-Athlete Advisory Council President (SAAC).

My earliest soccer memory is … when in second grade my best friend, Jody Adams, was on the soccer field with all the boys, and I decided I wanted to play and be just like her.

Other than soccer, my favorite sport to play is … Well, it is hard to pick just one. I love volleyball, basketball, tennis and to just get out and go for a run.

When I have an hour of free time, I like to … go running, hang with friends, be quiet, take a nap, read my Bible or a good book, go shopping hang out at Starbucks with a nice cup of coffee, etc…!!

If I won a million dollars, I would … give a portion of it to those in need, pay off my parents' mortgage, go shopping, and if there is money left, do some traveling.

If someone would look at the songs on my iPod, I would be embarrassed for them to see I have … the entire Lion King soundtrack.

It is not good for you, but I still eat … chocolate (when I need a good energy fix).

A place I would like to visit one day is … Rome, Italy, France, London and Israel.

If you could eat dinner with three other people (living or dead), who would they be and why? Jesus and my parents, Dan and Paige Payne.

Who is your favorite Bible character and why? I love Esther because she stood up for her people, the Jews, and her faith in God.

When surfing the Internet, what website do you visit the most frequently? I hate to say it, but probably Facebook. It is the best way for me to keep up with friends back home and all over the country.

What is something about you that other people don't know? I love horses and would love to own my own ranch. Also, I would like try barrel racing someday.

What is the best part about being on the Liberty Women's Soccer team? The FELLOWSHIP. I can honestly say I have the best teammates ever, and without them, I do not know where, who or what I would be as a person.

Who is your favorite Superhero and why? My Dad! He always knows what to say when I am upset, confused or am just needing general direction and guidance. He is an amazing man, who has come from a family with very little and has worked to see that his family has more than enough. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school. He put himself through college and received his degree in engineering. He started a college wrestling program at Embry-Riddle, worked toward his MBA, holds his general and commercial construction licenses and still seems to find time to be a loving father and husband to my mother, my two brothers and me.

After graduation, I would like to … continue my education by working toward a master's in professional accountancy at Montana State. I would also like to work in a bank, move back WEST to be closer to my family, run some triathlons or marathons, learn how to barrel race and eventually (Lord willing) get married and coach girls' soccer someday. I am excited to see what the Lord has for my life beyond the pitch.
