2007 Countdown to Kickoff Central

Liberty University Head Football Coach Danny Rocco will start his weekly appearance on the Flames Hotline this Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., with the show going on location to the Candler's Mountain Road Applebee's.

Last year, the Flames Hotline was a periodic program, hosting numerous Liberty coaches throughout the athletics season. But this year, the Flames Hotline will become a staple on the airways, giving Flame supporters a weekly opportunity to interact one-on-one with Liberty's head coaches.

Another new feature to the program is the location, as the show moves out of the WWMC 90.9 FM studio and into the Candler's Mountain Road Applebee's. Besides calling in on the Flames Hotline toll-free number, Flame fans are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the program by asking questions of Rocco in person at the local-area Applebee's.

Those wishing to participate in the call-in portion of the Flames Hotline, hosted by The Light's sports director Jerod Brooks, can contact the station any where at (866) 890-0909. Those not able to participate in the call-in portion of the show can also email their questions for Rocco to wwmcfm@liberty.edu prior to the start of the show.

Flame fans can listen to the show locally by tuning their radio dials to WWMC 90.9 FM, The Light, or any where you have an internet connection, as the show will be streamed live and can be listened to by logging onto www.LibertyFlames.com.

During the fall, the weekly show will feature segments with various members of the Flames' football coaching staff and select players and will close with Rocco's weekly comments and a question-and-answer session.

This week, Liberty University Director of Athletics Jeff Barber will open the show, where he will talk about a variety of subjects, including stadium improvements, tailgating information and some unique pre-game festivities.

Rocco will follow, giving listeners a recap of how preseason training camp went for the Big South's preseason favorite to hoist the trophy at the end of the year. Rocco will also preview Liberty's first opponent, Tusculum, who is coming off a heartbreaking loss to Charleston this past weekend.
