Just two days before his team opens the 2007 volleyball season, Liberty head coach Shane Pinder sat down with LibertyFlames.com to preview the upcoming campaign.

Optimism abounds for the season, as the Lady Flames were picked to finish second in the Big South Conference. Additionally, Liberty is slated to host the 2007 Big South Volleyball Championship at the Vines Center. Pinder touches on these topics and also summarizes the high points of the team's preseason training camp. The fourth-year head coach additionally talks about the return of Jessica Nelson and the progress of the squad's crop of newcomers, among other things.

This Friday and Saturday, the Lady Flames will host the Liberty Invitational Presented by Pepsi, at the Vines Center. Liberty's season opener will be a tilt with Howard, Friday evening at 7 p.m. The Lady Flames are scheduled for a pair of Saturday matches, a 10:30 a.m. contest against Duquesne and a 6 p.m. match-up with Evansville.
