Megan Frazee and Liberty rebounded from a loss to go 1-1 in the State Farm Classic, hosted by the University of Florida, with a 67-57 victory over Rhode Island this evening in the O'Connell Center.

The Lady Flames (6-4) scored the first five points – all by Frazee – to give Liberty an early lead, but the Rams (3-7) responded as Jessica Magley knocked down a jumper to tie things up at seven.

Both teams swapped points over the next three minutes until the Lady Flames reeled off a 15-4 run as Frazee connected on 1-of-2 free throws to give Liberty its largest lead of the half at 11.

Liberty held Rhode Island without a field goal over a nine minute period until Safi Mojidi's layup at the 2:36 mark as the Lady Flames headed into the half with a seven point advantage, 30-23.

The Lady Flames opened up the second half on a 14-4 run to go up 17 as Allyson Fasnacht hit on 1-of-2 free throws.

After extending their lead to a game-high 18 four minutes later, the Rams cut into Liberty's lead with a 15-8 run capped off on a jumper by Mia Marcus to get to within 11.

Rhode Island would get to with 10, but that's as close as they'd get in the second half as the Lady Flames picked up the 67-57 victory.

Coming off a season-low seven points, Megan Frazee responded with her seventh double-double on the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while dishing out six assists. Her sister, Moriah, tied Megan with a game-high 17 points and picked up nine rebounds. Karolina Piotrkiewicz recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the way for Liberty.

After being outrebounded by 15 against Florida, Liberty outrebounded the Rams by 22.

The Lady Flames begin a season-high five game homestand as they host American on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Vines Center.
