2007 Countdown to Kickoff Central

The Liberty Flames football team will have seven of its 11 regular-season football games televised this year, including all six home games. Also, the Big South EDGE will cover eight of Liberty's contests via the internet.

The Flames Sports Network (FSN) will broadcast the first five home games, marking the continual expansion of the broadcast network. FSN began televising home men's and women's basketball games during the 2003-04 season and added home volleyball matches to its slate in 2004.

This year's FSN television broadcast team consists of Mike Tilley, who will handle play-by-play duties, and Ray Jones as color commentator, while former women's basketball assistant coach Kelley Deyo will be roaming the turf as a sideline reporter. All FSN broadcasts can be seen in the Central Virginia area on either the Liberty Channel or WDRL-TV.

Two weeks ago, the Big South Conference announced a new partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN). MASN will air a minimum of two football games and four men's basketball games featuring Big South Conference teams throughout the coming season.

Both scheduled MASN football games will feature the Flames, as Liberty's home finale against three-time defending Big South champion Coastal Carolina will be covered by the new media partner. MASN will also broadcast Liberty's regular-season finale in Boiling Springs, N.C., against Gardner-Webb. Both games kick off at 3:30 p.m.

Flame fans who do not live in the greater Lynchburg area can also follow Liberty football action via the internet, as the Big South EDGE will be covering six of Liberty's contests.

Liberty's six home games and the team's road contest at Charleston Southern (Oct. 20) and Gardner-Webb (Nov. 17) will be broadcast via the conference's video streaming platform.

Fans can purchase a football season pass for all Big South video streamed events for $39.95 and a full fall sport season pass for $49.95 (includes football, volleyball and men's and women's soccer contests). The conference's best deal is the EDGE's annual subscription for $69.95, giving members access to all video-streamed events during the 2007-08 athletic year.
