2006 Big South All-Conference midfielder Amy Oberlin and the Lady Flames will face another challenging schedule in 2007.

A tournament in Arizona and their first-ever meeting with Clemson highlight the Liberty Lady Flames Women's Soccer team's 2007 schedule, as announced by head coach James Price.

This ambitious slate features two scrimmages, seven road matches, nine home matches and one neutral contest. The Lady Flames will face 10 non-conference opponents along with their seven Big South Conference foes during the 17-game regular season schedule. Liberty will then conclude its season by attempting to capture its fourth Big South title at the conference tournament, scheduled for Nov. 8-11 in Charleston, S.C.

The Lady Flames will open the 2007 season with two scrimmages. The first will be across town on Aug. 23 at Lynchburg College, while the 2007 squad will host its alumni in a friendly contest on Aug. 25 at Liberty Soccer Field.

The season officially begins with Liberty traveling to Clemson on Aug. 31 to face the Lady Tigers for the first time in the history of the two programs. Last season, Clemson finished the regular season ranked no. 14 in the country and won three NCAA College Cup matches, before being eliminated in the Elite Eight.

A week later, Liberty will travel to Flagstaff, Ariz. to compete in the Northern Arizona High Altitude Tournament on Sept. 7 and 9. The Lady Flames will square off with host Northern Arizona on the first night of the tournament and face UC Irvine in the first game of the final day.

Price's squad will then host its first contest of the regular season the following weekend by welcoming NCAA tournament participant Old Dominion to Liberty Soccer Field on Sept. 15. The match will be the first of seven home night tilts.

Liberty will then return to the road for three straight contests, beginning with the Lady Cavaliers of Virginia on Sept. 21. Virginia is one of four opponents from last year's NCAA Women's College Cup the Lady Flames will meet on the pitch in 2007. After traveling to Charleston Southern on Sept. 28 for the first Big South contest of the season, Liberty will close the span of road games with their first ever meeting with future conference foe, Presbyterian on Sept. 30.

The final 10 games of the schedule will have the Lady Flames hosting eight home matches including visits by four conference rivals, beginning with VMI on Oct. 6. Big South rivals Winthrop, Radford and Coastal Carolina will pay a call to the Liberty Soccer Field during the month of October. Liberty concludes the regular season at home on Nov. 4 with a visit by South Dakota State.

The rest of the 2007 Big South schedule includes road trips to High Point on Oct. 20 and defending Big South Champion UNC Asheville, who defeated the Lady Flames in the conference's title game on penalty kicks in 2006, on Oct. 31.

Charleston Southern will host the 2007 Big South Championship in Charleston, S.C., Nov. 8-11.
