Baseball Notes - Big South Championship
The No. 3 seed Liberty University Flames (33-23, 14-7 Big South) will square off against the No. 4 seed Virginia Military Institute Keydets (34-19, 10-11 Big South) in Game 3 of the 2007 Big South Baseball Championship at Winthrop Ballpark in Rock Hill, S.C., on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at 8 p.m. The winner will face the winner of Game 2 between the No.2 seed Winthrop Eagles and the winner of the No. 6 seed UNC Asheville Bulldogs and No.7 seed Charleston Southern Buccaneers on Thursday, May 24 at 8 p.m., while the loser will face the winner of Game 1 between the No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the winner of the No. 5 seed High Point Panthers and the No. 8 seed Radford Highlanders at 3 p.m.
The remainder of the double elimination tournament will be played on Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26 with the champion scheduled to be crowned on May 26, in Game 10 or Game 11 (if necessary). The Big South Baseball Champion claims the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Baseball Regionals.
Prior to the UNC Asheville-Charleston Southern game Tuesday, the Big South Conference and its member institutions will observe a moment of silence in honor of Liberty University Founder and Chancellor Dr. Jerry Falwell and Winthrop men's basketball player De'Andre Adams, as well as prior to Liberty's and Winthrop's respective first game of the tournament on Wednesday.

Wednesday's game can be heard on 90.9 FM WMMC "The Light" starting at
8 p.m. Thursday's game can also be heard on the station. In addition, the live broadcast can be heard via webcast at www.thelightonline.com. The station will carry all Liberty tournament games as long as the team remains in the championship.

All the games of the 2007 Big South Championship will be video streamed live on the conference's web site, The Big South EDGE presented by Aéropostale. Tournament games will be available daily via the $5.95 Day Pass -- which covers all games played that respective day -- or the $15.95 Full Championship Pass, which features the tournament in its entirety. In addition, real-time "Live Stats" will be available on both the Big South's and Winthrop's website free of charge for the entire tournament.
