Liberty University senior Jessica Moore has been named to the Louisville Slugger All-Region second squad, a team honoring the best players in the Southeast portion of the country.

Moore (Sr., OF, Chesapeake, Va.) recently was named Big South Player of the Year for the second time in her career, making her the first softball player in school history to garner the lofty honor twice during her career.

The outfielder led the Lady Flames in almost every statistical category this year, including batting average (.434), runs scored (64), triples (2), home runs (19), RBI (54), slugging percentage (.855), walks (46) and on-base percentage (.556).

Moore's numbers have also drawn national attention as she is the only player in the Big South Conference to be ranked in five different NCAA statistical categories, including 10th in walks, 15th in batting average, 17th in home runs, 63rd in RBI and 16th in slugging percentage.

Moore helped guide the Lady Flames to a 36-26 overall record, tying for the third most wins in program history. The senior also assisted in Liberty grabbing a share of the Big South regular season title, marking the third time in program history, with an 11-4 conference mark.

Moore graduates from the school as the program's all-time leader in batting average (.419), runs (191), hits (229), walks (100) and home runs (58), while ranking third in doubles (41) and triples (10) and fourth in stolen bases (39).

The honor marks the second time in her career Moore has claimed a spot on the Louisville Slugger All-Region squad as she was also named to the team in 2005. Moore is the third player in program history to be named to the elite team as she joins Meredith Hollyfield (2000) and Amanda Maska (2004) as a fellow All-Region honoree.
