For the third-straight week and the fourth time this year, Liberty University softball player Terra Lowe was named the New Balance Big South Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference today.

Lowe (Sr., RHP, Chesapeake, Va.) posted a 1-1 record on the week with a 1.70 ERA in two starts. The hurler's week was highlighted by an eight-strikeout, two-hit shutout victory over Birmingham-Southern last Friday, moving her record to 7-1 on the year against league foes.

The senior followed with six strikeouts during four innings of effective, two-hit relief against the Panthers on Saturday.

With the victory on Friday, Lowe tied a career high as the senior leads the Lady Flames with a 16-8 record. Lowe finished last year with a 16-10 mark and currently stands fourth in school history with 43 career victories.

Lowe is the only player in the Big South Conference to be named Big South Pitcher of the Week four times this year. The senior also garnered the honor on March 19, April 23 and April 30.

Lowe and the rest of the Lady Flames will open play at the 2007 Big South Softball Championship on Thursday afternoon when No. 1 Liberty faces off against the victor of the No. 4 Coastal Carolina and No. 5 Birmingham-Southern contest. Liberty's first game will be played at 3 p.m., beginning the three-day event hosted by Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C.
