Former Liberty Flames soccer standouts Osei Telesford and Darryl Roberts have had successful starts to their respective professional careers.

Telesford, a defender, made his Major League Soccer debut in the Chicago Fire's 2-1 win over Kansas City this past Saturday night. He then tallied the lone goal for Chicago in the reserve game against Kansas City, which ended in a 1-1 tie, Sunday afternoon at Toyota Park outside Chicago, Ill. Teammate Calen Carr slipped the former Flames standout a pass through heavy traffic. Telesford then deflected the ball past the Wizard reserve keeper Eric Kronberg for the Chicago Reserves' lone goal in the 31st minute.

Meanwhile, Telesford's former teammate, Roberts, has netted two goals in three and a half games for Sparta Rotterdam in the Netherlands Professional League. Liberty's all-time leading scorer, Roberts has started and played in all 90 minutes in his last three contests, after scoring a goal as a reserve in his debut. This past weekend, he played all 90 minutes in Sparta Rotterdam's contest with AJAX in front of a crowd of 50,364 in AJAX's famous Amsterdam Arena.

"Darryl and Osei are having the success that I knew they would have once they adapted to the professional environment," stated Liberty head coach Jeff Alder. "Both of these guys have high ceilings and I feel their best soccer will come after getting more experience in their new environments. I'm so proud of them and their willingness to impact others around them on and off the field of play."
