Sebastian Pena was named to the Big South All-Academic Team Wednesday night.

Liberty junior Sebastian Pena was named the 2007 Big South Conference Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, as the conference's postseason awards were announced Wednesday at the Big South Tennis Banquet.

Pena, boosted by a GPA of 3.7, was named to the conference all-academic team for the first time. The native of Santiago, Chile, is a four-time member of Liberty's Dean's List, and has been a leader for the Flames on the court this season. Pena's eight wins, six of which came in the No. 3 flight, has given the junior the team lead for the season.

Pena, along with his Liberty teammates, took on the Winthrop Eagles on Thursday. Match time for the opening round of the conference tournament, set for the Radford University campus, is scheduled for 8 a.m.
