Frazee Named to VaSID All-State First Team

Liberty sophomore guard/forward Megan Frazee has joined past Lady Flames standout Katie Feenstra as the only Liberty players ever to be included on the Virginia Sports Information Directors Association (VaSID) All-State Women's Basketball first-team roster, it was announced today. 

In addition to Frazee (Xenia, Ohio), the first team consisted of Player of the Year Meredith Alexis of James Madison, Alexis' teammate Tamera Young, Old Dominion's T.J. Jordan and Virginia's Lyndra Littles. Monica Wright of Virginia was honored as Rookie of the Year and James Madison head coach Kenny Brooks took home Coach of the Year honors. 

Frazee, who had been included on the All-State second team as a freshman, became the first Lady Flame voted to the first team since Feenstra's selections in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The sophomore led the Lady Flames to their 11th consecutive winning season, a 19-12 campaign, this past season. 

The Big South Conference's second-leading scorer at 17.2 ppg, she ranked in the top five of seven different conference statistical categories. Frazee finished as the Big South leader in rebounding (8.5 rpg), free throw percentage (.772) and three-point field goal percentage (.410). She posted a conference-best 13 double-doubles, highlighted by a 37-point, 15-rebound outburst during Liberty's 75-71 win at Virginia on Nov. 20. 

Frazee has earned a sizable collection of hardware this season. This is the second all-state team to which she has been named, after previously earning inclusion on the Richmond Times-Dispatch all-state ledger. She was named an All-Big South first-team selection and was included on the Big South All-Tournament team. Four times during the season, the sophomore took home Big South Player of the Week honors. Also a standout in the classroom, Frazee was one of seven sophomores in the nation to earn ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District first-team distinction. She was additionally a member of the Big South All-Academic team.
