As the Liberty women's tennis team begins its preparations for the upcoming season, Alan York of the Liberty Flames Sports Network had a chance to catch up with head coach Jeff Maren.

Maren provides insight into the Lady Flames' preparation heading into the fall, along with the expectations for the 2014 campaign as they face a tough 2014-15 slate.

Liberty looks to duplicate its success from last season, when the squad won 15 contests overall and captured seven Big South victories, besting the program's single-season record set back in 2011.  The Lady Flames carried a seven-match winning streak heading into the Big South Semifinals where they were defeated by potential champion Winthrop.

Liberty opens its fall tournament schedule Sep. 12-14 when they travel to Elon, N.C. to compete in the Elon Invitational.
