Andrea Beckles wrapped up a weekend which saw her dip under 12 seconds in the 100-meter dash and under 25 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Liberty sophomore Andrea Beckles recorded a trio of top four finishes in the sprinting events, Saturday at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Relays in Greensboro, N.C. On the men's side, freshman Elliot Galeone was the Flames' lone champion of the day, taking home the javelin title.

Beckles (Lynchburg, Va.), who had set a personal best in the 100-meter dash prelims on Friday (11.96), achieved a new lifetime best of 24.95 seconds in the 200-meter dash on Saturday. Her effort was good for third place overall in the event. She also helped the Lady Flames' 4 x 100 relay team to a third-place showing in 48.57 seconds and ended up fourth in the 100-meter final with a 12.16 clocking.

Liberty captured a trio of second-place finishes in the women's field events during the meet's second day. Lacey Cunningham (Fr., Spring Hill, Kan.) was the runner-up in both the hammer (102-4) and javelin (127-4) throws. Fellow freshman Danielle Harris (Luray, Va.) cleared 9-6.25 in the pole vault for second place in the discipline.

Jaime Watson (So., Ravenna, Mich.) continued a successful comeback from injury, running a 2:19.97 for fourth place in the 800-meter run. Marie Williams (Jr., Tampa, Fla.) ran well in the hurdles for the second straight day, placing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with an official time of 15.55.

Galeone (White Hall, Md.) heaved the javelin 158-0 to pace the field in the event. Liberty's male throwers also scored well in the hammer throw on Saturday, as Steve Barrett (Jr., Thornton, W. Va.) was second (137-10) and Andrew Bartels (So., Grantham, Pa.) took third (131-7). Senior Travis Campbell (Candler, N.C.) ran to a 1:56.07 clocking in the 800 meters, placing him fourth overall.

Liberty will tune up for the New Balance Big South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships next Saturday at the James Madison Invitational. Competition is set to begin at 11 a.m. in Harrisonburg, Va.
