2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad

For the second time in program history, and the first since 2011, the Liberty lacrosse team has been recognized for academic success by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).  As announced this week, the Lady Flames were listed among the recipients of the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.

There were a grand total of 254 teams to garner the award this year.  The honor went to programs ranging from NCAA Division I through Division III that maintained at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Liberty lacrosse accumulated a 3.4 overall GPA through the 2013-14 academic year.  Liberty is one of seven Big South teams to capture the award this season.

The Lady Flames were one of 84 NCAA Division I women's lacrosse programs to receive the 2014 IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.  Division I programs made up 33 percent of the overall recipients this year.
